How They Differ
Rosebud AI is a creator tool first. You build in the browser, and paid plans open the generated JavaScript so you can change it by hand. Its asset tools are broad, and its top plans export a Windows build you can put on Steam.
Remix is a game platform first. When you publish, the game goes to a feed of players on the web, in the iOS and Android apps and in Remix Desktop. Leaderboards, saves, achievements and live multiplayer rooms come with the platform, so you do not wire up a backend.
Which to Pick
If the code is the point, and you may take the game elsewhere, Rosebud AI is the better tool. If the players are the point, and you want them on their phones, Remix is.
What Rosebud AI Does Better
- Paid plans let you read and edit the generated JavaScript in the browser.
- Pro plans download the code and export a Windows build you can put on Steam.
- A wide set of AI asset tools: sprites, 2D art, skyboxes, 3D models, video, sound effects, music and speech.
- Games can be embedded on other sites and play inside posts on X.
- Commercial rights from the 10x Dev plan, with no commission on what you earn.
Where Remix Falls Short
- Building a new game with Remix AI needs a paid plan. Free accounts can plan a game, or build one with their own AI coding tools and publish it free.
- Games are web games. There is no export to Steam, consoles or a standalone app store listing of your own.
- Remix is not a full game engine. There is no scene editor or visual scripting, so large projects are easier in an engine.
- The Remix audience is smaller than the biggest platforms such as Roblox.
Questions
- Can I export my game?
- Rosebud AI lets Pro plans download the code and export a Windows build. Remix lets every paid plan export a game, but leaderboards, saves and multiplayer rooms only work on Remix.
- Do the games work on phones?
- Rosebud AI games play in a phone's browser. Remix games also play in the Remix apps for iOS and Android.
- Which has more AI asset tools?
- Rosebud AI. It generates sprites, 2D art, skyboxes, 3D models, video, sound effects, music and speech.
We make Remix, so read this with that in mind. Every fact in the table names the page it came from and the day we last checked it. If something here is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
Try Remix With Your Own Idea
Describe a game, play it, and publish it to the web and the Remix apps.
