How They Differ

Roblox is the largest platform on this list by far, and its games are multiplayer by default. Roblox Studio is a full 3D editor, and Roblox Assistant can plan, script and generate meshes and textures inside it. To finish a serious game, though, you will be writing or reading Luau.

Remix is lighter. You describe a game and play it, in 2D or 3D, then change it in chat. Multiplayer rooms, leaderboards and saves come with the platform, and a game plays from a link on the web as well as in the apps.

Which to Pick

If you want to build a big 3D world for Roblox's players and earn Robux, use Roblox. If you want a game made in minutes that anyone can open from a link, Remix fits better.

What Roblox Does Better

Where Remix Falls Short

  • Building a new game with Remix AI needs a paid plan. Free accounts can plan a game, or build one with their own AI coding tools and publish it free.
  • Games are web games. There is no export to Steam, consoles or a standalone app store listing of your own.
  • Remix is not a full game engine. There is no scene editor or visual scripting, so large projects are easier in an engine.
  • The Remix audience is smaller than the biggest platforms such as Roblox.
