Best AI Game Makers

There is no single best AI game maker. Some make a game from a sentence, some help inside a full engine, and some are kits for your own coding agent. Here is who each one suits.

Facts checked

How We Compared Them

We make Remix, so we put it first, and we told you where it falls short below. Every fact in the table comes from each product's own pages, and each one shows the day we checked it. Where a product's own pages say nothing, the table says Unknown rather than guessing.

The tools are in the order we would suggest them to someone who wants to make a game and get people playing it.

The Tools

  1. 1. Remix

    $5 a month

An AI game maker and game feed: describe a game, play it, and publish it to the web, iOS, Android and Remix Desktop.

Best if you want to turn an idea into a game people can play on their phones today.

  2. 2. Astrocade

Free to start · No paid plan needed

A free web and mobile feed of short player-made games, with an AI game maker that turns a typed description into a game published to that feed.

Best if you want to make short games for free and never pay for a plan.

    Remix vs Astrocade
  3. 3. Rosebud AI

    Free to start · $15 a month

A browser game maker that turns a plain-language description into a 2D, 3D or voxel web game, with AI asset tools, free hosting and paid plans for code editing and export.

Best if you want to see and edit the code behind an AI-made game.

    Remix vs Rosebud AI
  4. 4. Websim

Free to start · Not listed publicly

A browser platform where you describe a game, app or web toy, an AI agent writes the code, and you post it to a feed where others play, comment on and remix it.

Best if you want to make browser games and web toys for free without setting anything up.

    Remix vs Websim
  5. 5. Sekai

Free to start · No paid plan needed

A mobile-first app where you describe an idea and AI turns it into a playable mini-app, such as a game, quiz, story or music toy, that others play and remix in a personalized feed.

Best if you want to make quick mini-games, quizzes and memes on your phone for free.

    Remix vs Sekai
  6. 6. Google Playground

    Not listed publicly

An experimental Google Labs platform, launched in October 2026, where you describe a game in a chat and get a browser game you can keep private, share by link or publish to a gallery.

Best if you are a US adult who already pays for a Google AI plan.

    Remix vs Google Playground
  7. 7. Bitmagic

    Not listed publicly

A paid game kit your own coding agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) uses to build 3D browser games and publish them to bitmagic.ai, where anyone can play them free.

Best if you already use Claude Code, Codex or Cursor and want to make 3D browser games.

    Remix vs Bitmagic
  8. 8. GDevelop

    Free to start · $7.99 a month

An open-source 2D and 3D game engine that uses visual events instead of code, with an AI agent that adds features to a project and free hosting on gd.games.

Best if you want to learn game making and own a project you can ship to Steam or the app stores.

    Remix vs GDevelop
  9. 9. Roblox

Free to start · No paid plan needed

Roblox Studio is Roblox’s free Windows and Mac editor for multiplayer 3D games written in Luau, with Roblox Assistant, an AI that plans, scripts and makes assets inside Studio.

Best if you want your game in front of Roblox’s players and plan to earn Robux.

Where Remix Falls Short

  • Building a new game with Remix AI needs a paid plan. Free accounts can plan a game, or build one with their own AI coding tools and publish it free.
  • Games are web games. There is no export to Steam, consoles or a standalone app store listing of your own.
  • Remix is not a full game engine. There is no scene editor or visual scripting, so large projects are easier in an engine.
  • The Remix audience is smaller than the biggest platforms such as Roblox.

Questions

What is the best free AI game maker?
Astrocade is free to make and play. GDevelop and Roblox are free to build with, and Websim and Rosebud AI have free tiers.
Which AI game maker can make a game from one prompt?
Remix, Astrocade, Rosebud AI, Websim and Google Playground each make a playable game from a description. Bitmagic does it through your own coding agent. GDevelop and Roblox use AI to help inside an editor.
Which one should a beginner use?
If you want a game today, start with a prompt-to-game tool such as Remix or Astrocade. If you want to learn how games are built, GDevelop teaches more.

We make Remix, so read this with that in mind. Every fact in the table names the page it came from and the day we last checked it. If something here is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it.

Try Remix With Your Own Idea

Describe a game, play it, and publish it to the web and the Remix apps.
