New categories for sports, flying, roguelites and RPGs

Seven new places to look

Remix now has 29 game categories. The newest ones split popular genres into the kinds of games people actually ask for:

• Soccer, Basketball, Football and Golf sit next to Sports, so a basketball fan no longer scrolls past penalty kicks.
• Flying is for games where you pilot, glide or flap, not just jump.
• Roguelite is for runs that end when you die and start over with a new map, new enemies or new upgrades to pick.
• RPG is for games where your character grows: levels, stats, gear, skills or quests.

When a game is published, Remix assigns categories from what the game actually does, and creators can choose their own.

Arcade or Levels

Browse also filters by game mode. Arcade games are one run at a time for a high score. Levels games have numbered stages, stars and saved progress.

Every category now opens with staff picks, games our team has played and chosen, in a fresh order each visit. The most played games come after them.
