Crumple Zone

Crumple Zone is a physics crash-test sandbox. Send a sedan into a barrier at the Grid Proving Ground and watch its body deform in real time. The car is built from individual structural parts: frame rails with crumple zones, bumpers, mirrors, doors, a hood, a trunk, suspension and airbags. Each part has its own strength, so metal can fold, panels can tear, and bolts and latches can give way as the impact travels through the chassis. Study how the crumple zones absorb energy and how the passenger cabin holds up, then try again to see what changes the result.
